PROJECT LIFESAVER
Sgt. Terry Hudgens has been the driving force for bringing Project
Lifesaver to the citizens of Gila County.
Project Lifesaver utilizes radio tracking signals to locate
individuals who are prone to wandering, such as victims of
Alzheimer's disease, Autism, Down syndrome, Williams's syndrome,
Soto syndrome, Fetal Alcohol syndrome, traumatic brain injuries and
other conditions that cause wandering. As a result of these various
diseases, victims who wander from the control of their caregivers
are difficult to locate due to their actions being unpredictable.
Project Lifesaver has proven to be highly effective in locating
persons across the country who have been part of the program by
providing a means for locating the victim in a timely manner.
The effort Sgt. Hudgens has shown in procuring materials, equipment
and training for this program is above and beyond the call of duty
and shows a profound dedication to public safety.
